Gobuk village, situated in the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh at an elevation of approximately 1,236 metres above sea level, is home to the Adi tribe—one of the largest indigenous communities in the state. In its pursuit of a more sustainable way of life, the village has taken bold steps to conserve its rich biodiversity, including the voluntary reduction of wildlife hunting, a practice once integral to traditional Adi culture.
